BRAILLON MAGNETIC AND THE PROTECTION OF PERSONAL DATA
Introduction
The General Data Protection Regulation (RGPD) is the legal framework for the processing of personal data in Europe, as of May 25, 2018.
Braillon Magnetics, which in view of its situation is subject to the provisions of the RGPD, will have distinct obligations with which to comply in its capacity as Data Controller.
Definitions:
- Personal data: any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person. An identifiable natural person is one who can be identified, directly or indirectly.
- Processing: any operation or set of operations which is performed upon personal data or sets of data, whether or not by automatic means (collection, recording, transmission, storage, keeping, retrieval, consultation, use, interconnection, etc.).
- Data controller: the natural or legal person, public authority, department or other body which, alone or jointly with others, determines the purposes and means of the processing.
Braillon Magnetics' commitments as Data Controller
Braillon Magnetics is qualified as a "Data Controller" since it processes the personal data of its employees, but also data for invoicing purposes, commercial canvassing, improving the quality of services and performance, etc.
Braillon Magnetics undertakes to:
- Limit the collection of data to that which is strictly necessary: as part of this approach, when ordering a product, you only provide the data necessary for Braillon Magnetics to provide invoicing and support services, or to meet its own legal obligations in terms of data retention;
- Not to use the data collected for purposes other than those for which it was collected;
- retain personal data for a limited and proportionate period. By way of example, data processed for the purposes of managing the relationship between the customer and Braillon Magnetics (surname, first name, postal address, e-mail, telephone) are kept by the company for the entire duration of the contract, then 10 years from the end of the financial year, in accordance with article L123-22 of the French Commercial Code. At the end of this period, they are deleted from all computer media;
- Not to transfer this data to third parties other than Braillon Magnetics' partner companies involved in the performance of the contract;
- Implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to guarantee a high level of security.
